Richard Fletcher - Director, Borland Financial Management Ltd.
Richard studied Economics at Glasgow University, and, upon completion of his Honours degree, spent the first twelve months of his working life in Vancouver, Canada.
Richard returned to the UK in 2001 and joined Scottish Widows for his first experience of Financial Services. It was at Scottish Widows that Richard completed his Financial Planning Certificates, the entrance qualification for advising clients in Financial Services.
Richard subsequently worked for a senior partner of St James' Place and Albannach Financial Management where he first took up the role of Financial Advisor.
Prior to Borland Financial Management, Richard worked for the largest Wealth Manager in the UK, Barclays Wealth as a Financial Planner.
Richard has spent much of his working life ensuring he has a very high level of qualification and currently has sixteen Financial Services examination certificates holding the Diploma in Financial Services, and is currently completing his Chartered Status within Financial Planning. Richard is fully qualified and regulated to provide advice on Mortgages, Protection, Investment, Retirement, Estate and Tax Planning.
Richard believes the key to providing high quality Financial Advice and to ensure the retention of clients is to fully understand his clients' circumstances and goals and ensure the appropriate solution meets their long term objectives.
Richard is married to an Australian lady, making regular trips down under to visit family, friends and watch various sporting events. A very keen sportsman Richard still plays football for a local amateur team, however, he is made frequently aware by his teammates that he is in the twilight of his playing days!
